Sales
Electronic Arts' only unit figure for Battlefield 6 is over 7 million copies sold in its first three days, announced on Oct 16, 2025. EA later called it the best-selling shooter of 2025, and Circana ranked it the best-selling game of 2025 in the US, the first year a Battlefield outsold Call of Duty there.
Electronic Arts' only unit figure for Battlefield 6 is over 7 million copies sold in its first three days, which it called "the biggest launch in franchise history" on Oct 16, 2025. EA has not published a newer total as of Nov 8, 2026. It has since called Battlefield 6 the best-selling shooter of 2025, and Circana ranked it the best-selling game of 2025 in the US, the first year a Battlefield outsold Call of Duty there. Anything larger than 7 million is an analyst's estimate, and this page labels each one.

How many copies has Battlefield 6 sold?
EA says over 7 million, counted over its first three days, Oct 10 to Oct 12, 2025. The same announcement listed over 172 million online matches, over 15 million hours watched on streaming services, all-time franchise sales highs and "the most concurrent players in Battlefield history", without a number for players. Bloomberg and VGC reported the figure the same day. Vince Zampella, then head of Battlefield, said in the release: "We never take moments like this for granted." Enders, a daily Battlefield streamer, put the record down to timing in his Oct 10, 2026 one-year review: a strong beta, marketing aimed squarely at players let down by 2042, and a release window with no Call of Duty or GTA 6 beside it. No later unit count has come from EA: the company reports bookings, not copies, and it stopped publishing results altogether when it went private in Aug 2026 (Battlefield Studios).
What EA said in its results
EA's quarterly reports never gave Battlefield 6 a unit number, but each said something about it. Battlefield 6 launched ten days after EA's July to September 2025 quarter closed, so that quarter's results, published on Oct 28, 2025, mention only its "successful launch". The next quarter was the record.
| Period (EA fiscal) | Released | What EA said about Battlefield 6 |
|---|---|---|
| Oct to Dec 2025 (Q3 FY26) | Feb 3, 2026 | "Record Quarterly Net Bookings Driven by Battlefield 6's Landmark Launch": net bookings of $3.046 billion, up 38%; "the best-selling shooter title of 2025, setting new franchise engagement records" |
| Apr 2025 to Mar 2026 (FY26) | May 5, 2026 | "the best performing Battlefield in a fiscal year setting numerous franchise fiscal year records"; record net bookings of $8.026 billion for the year, up 9% |
| After Aug 4, 2026 | No public results: EA became a private company |
Sources: EA's Q3 FY26 release, Feb 3, 2026; EA's FY26 release, May 5, 2026, filed with the SEC. Andrew Wilson, EA's chief executive, said the record year was "highlighted by the incredibly successful launch of our iconic Battlefield franchise". EA's own Battlefield 6 website still headlines it as the "best selling FPS of 2025", read on Nov 8, 2026.
Circana's US charts
Circana measures US dollar sales of full games, physical and digital, and its monthly charts gave Battlefield 6 a run of firsts.
| Circana period | Battlefield 6's rank | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Oct 2025 | No. 1 for the month and the year to date | Highest single-month US dollar total for any game in three years, since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II in Oct 2022 |
| Oct 2025 | Its first month passed Battlefield 1's lifetime US dollar sales, making it the best-selling Battlefield ever in the US | |
| Nov 2025 | No. 2 for the month, still No. 1 for the year | Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 led the month |
| Full year 2025 | No. 1 | Ahead of NBA 2K26, Borderlands 4, Monster Hunter Wilds and Black Ops 7 (5th); No. 1 on Xbox and PC, No. 2 on PlayStation |
Sources: Kotaku, Nov 20, 2025, quoting Circana's Mat Piscatella; GameSpot, Nov 2025; Pure Xbox, Dec 2025; VGC and GamesRadar+, Jan 2026.
The full-year result is the one people remember. VGC reported it as the first time a Battlefield had outsold Call of Duty over a year in the US, and GamesRadar+ called it the end of a "23-year-long feud". IGN's Daily Fix had already called the launch season a "popcorn-worthy back-and-forth" between the two publishers, as Activision timed Call of Duty free trials against Battlefield's big days. Circana counts dollars, not copies, and only in the US.
Analyst estimates (not EA's figures)
These numbers are guesses by research firms, reported by the press. EA has neither confirmed nor denied them.
- Over 20 million copies, 26 million players with REDSEC: Alinea Analytics' estimate in Dec 2025, reported by TweakTown and repeated by GamesRadar+ on Mar 9, 2026.
- The beta: EA called it "Battlefield's biggest Open Beta ever" without a count; GameSpot reported analyst estimates that disagree with each other, from over 5 million to over 20 million players.
Kotaku also cited reporting that EA spent over $400 million on Battlefield 6 and hoped for 100 million players, against about 30 million for Battlefield 1. Neither number comes from EA. Enders argues that the open beta was built to sell the game, showing its best maps, Siege of Cairo and Liberation Peak, which in his view is part of why sales ran ahead of how long players stayed.
Is Battlefield 6 a success?
By EA's own measures, yes: a record quarter, a record year and the best-selling shooter of 2025. We think the sales verdict is settled and the open question is the second year, which depends on players, not copies. On Steam, daily peaks have held near 50,000 since Feb 2026 (Steam Player Count), and the game joined Game Pass on Oct 13, 2026 (Price and Editions), which adds players without adding sales. We also think the reported 100-million-player hope, if it was real, is far out of reach: even counting REDSEC, nothing official or estimated comes near it. Enders, who calls the game a fumble, still concedes that EA "made out like bandits". Against that, EA laid off Battlefield staff in all four studios on Mar 9, 2026, five months after the record launch (Battlefield Studios), which in our view says the company's expectations were higher still.
We expect EA, now private, to announce a new milestone only if it is a round number it is proud of: our guess on whether 30 million is ever announced is on Predictions.
