Pax Armata

Pax Armata is the private military company that fights NATO in Battlefield 6, bankrolled by a Coalition of states that left the alliance. It is the enemy of the campaign and one of the two factions in multiplayer, with its own vehicles, soldiers and carriers.

Pax Armata is Battlefield 6's enemy: a private military company with "global reach and ambition", funded by a Coalition of countries that left NATO, which fights the alliance by proxy in the campaign and as the second faction in every multiplayer match. EA introduced it with the reveal trailer on Jul 24, 2025 as a private military corporation bankrolled by former NATO states, under the motto "Our Protection, Your Peace". The name is Latin for "armed peace", as IGN's campaign review notes, "proves to be anything but a peaceful one". Its commander, Alexander Kincaid, and the twist behind its creation are on Dagger 13 and Characters and Campaign Story and Ending.

What Pax Armata is

EA's single-player campaign page (Oct 10, 2025) sets it up: the world is fracturing, key European countries are withdrawing from the 70-year-old NATO alliance, and a Coalition of hostile countries wages a proxy war through Pax Armata. EA's The Story So Far calls it the Coalition's military arm, "a private military company with global reach and ambition". The point of the design is deniability: no country declares war, and Pax fights where its backers will not.

The campaign's opening montage, in MKIceAndFire's run, sells the idea in news clips: a force "built just like the military" that "doesn't play by their rules", "shadow armies without oversight", "providing protection for a price", that then moves "from foreign soil to your front door".

The motto: two versions

The trailer's slogan is "Our Protection, Your Peace", a pitch to the countries that hire it. In the news montage that opens the game, as Pax takes over the base in Georgia, one voice puts it more bluntly: "That's our motto. Force is how we keep the peace." We think the two lines are the faction in miniature: the first is what it sells, the second is what it does, and the name, "armed peace", carries both.

Pax Armata in the campaign

The war begins on Sep 17, 2027, when Pax attacks the Georgian base NATO is handing over to it. Days later NATO's Secretary General is assassinated, Pax claims it, and twelve countries leave NATO to back the company (GameRant). From there it takes Gibraltar, steers Egypt's army, plants a cell in Brooklyn and a mole on a US warship, and builds a missile base in Tajikistan. The missions are on Campaign Missions.

Egypt shows how Pax works on the ground. Ibrahim Al-Khatib tells Dagger 13 that Cairo has been on the verge of burning "ever since Pax became Egypt's ally": the company came in to support the army, and "now they're the ones calling the shots".

By the last act, Pax holds an arsenal of hypersonic missiles carrying NXC, the explosive nano-compound Kincaid supplied (GameRant). NATO's first task in Tajikistan is to take down the network of SAM sites protecting them.

The stakes, as the squad is briefed: four hypersonics, each with an NXC warhead, traveling at Mach 5, able to hit mainland Europe within 30 minutes of launch.

Who really created Pax (spoiler)

Spoiler: this section reveals the ending of the campaign.

The campaign's last twist is that Pax was not only the Coalition's. In the epilogue, when the squad accuses the CIA's Melissa Mills of diverting the funds and training the operatives that built it, she answers that it "was sanctioned": the product of entrenched political powers, the military-industrial complex and the CIA, made because "our country thrives with a common enemy". Kincaid, her recruit, went further than she meant. The full ending is on Campaign Story and Ending.

Pax Armata in multiplayer

Every Battlefield 6 multiplayer match is NATO against Pax Armata (EA, Battlefield 101, Oct 10, 2025). The classes and weapons are the same on both sides, so the factions differ in looks and in their vehicles. EA's vehicles page (updated Jul 21, 2026) lists each type with a NATO model and a Pax model:

Vehicle type NATO Pax Armata
Main battle tank M1A2 SEPV3 Leo A4
Infantry fighting vehicle M3A3 Bradley STRF 09 A4
Mobile anti-air Cheetah 1A2 GE-26 Pax
Armored transport LTV Traverser Mark 2
Light transport Glider 96 VECTOR
Dirt bike M1030-1 TM/O 450
Scout helicopter AH-6 Little Bird MH-350
Attack helicopter M77E Falchion Panthera KHT
Attack jet F-61V F39-E
Fighter jet F-97 Kestrel Su-57

On the naval maps of Season 4, each side gets a carrier: NATO's USS Grant and Pax's PXS Condor on Tsuru Reef, and NATO and Pax headquarters carriers on Wake Island (EA developer map guides, Jul 20 and Aug 11, 2026). Every vehicle is on Vehicles.

Some maps carry story. Hagental Base, added on Mar 17, 2026, is a former NATO airbase under the mountains that Pax has taken, and the limited Operation Augur mode (April 2026) had NATO attack Pax through Contaminated and then into Hagental Base (EA's Season 2 roadmap; Steam announcement, Apr 14, 2026). See Limited-Time Modes.

Pax soldiers are also sold and earned as cosmetics. The Season 1 battle pass's premium instant unlocks included Brodie, a Pax Armata Support soldier (EA, Oct 28, 2025), and Brodie skins became Ranked rewards in REDSEC. Pax-themed bundles have appeared in the store, such as the Season 2 "Searing Steed" set with a Pax Armata skin (Steam, Feb 18, 2026). More on Battle Pass and Battlefield Pro.

Pax Armata in REDSEC

The free-to-play REDSEC carries the story into the United States. Its map, Fort Lyndon, is a Southern California military site, and GamingBolt's review (Oct 29, 2025) opens on the premise: an incident at Fort Lyndon "could be a larger attack by the Pax Armada, aka those other guys you shot during the campaign".

Our view

We think Pax Armata is a better idea than the campaign that uses it. A private army that sells "protection" to states that left NATO is a sharp premise for 2027, and the multiplayer gives it a real identity, with its own tanks, helicopters and carriers. We think the campaign spends it on a single villain with a personal grudge, so the political setup EA advertised turns into a revenge story, and IGN's reviewer found the result "oddly apolitical". We think the next campaign will move Pax onto American soil, as REDSEC already has, rather than end it: the faction is too useful to the multiplayer to retire. Our dated calls are on Predictions.
