Conquest
Conquest is Battlefield 6's 64-player flag mode: two teams of 32 capture lettered objectives, and a team loses when its tickets (1,000 by EA's default) run out from deaths without revives and from the other side holding more flags. Holding every flag for a minute wins outright.
Conquest is Battlefield 6's biggest standard mode: two teams of up to 32 players fight over lettered flags across a map's largest Combat Zone, with tanks, jets and helicopters, and the first team to run out of tickets loses. In EA's words it is "the home of iconic all-out warfare" and "often features the largest player count and uses the biggest Combat Zones in official playlists". Tickets drain two ways, from deaths that are not revived and from the flags the other team holds, so the side that plays the map, not the side that gets the most kills, usually wins. EA Help's explainer, in the clip, describes up to seven control points, with lives drained by held points and by kills.

How Conquest works
Both teams start at their headquarters at opposite ends of the map. To capture a flag you stand inside its area for a set time; the other team can take it back at any moment, and when soldiers of both sides are inside it the flag is contested and capture progress stops. Every death that is not revived costs your team one ticket, and "for every objective under one team's control, the other team loses one life every couple of seconds". When a team's tickets reach zero, the match is over. IGN's multiplayer review sums Conquest up in the clip as both teams fighting for control of shared territory.
That bleed is the whole strategy. EA warns that "pure slaying also is not recommended, as the constant life drain from objectives can easily rebalance the scales". A team that holds three of five flags wins slowly even while losing every fight in the middle. A team that holds four of five forces the other side to spread thin to stop the bleed, and its own deaths start to matter less than its captures. EA's explainer, in the clip, adds the second way a round ends: the team ahead in lives when time runs out wins.
On screen, a blue circle marks your flag, a red diamond the enemy's and a gray square a neutral one, and the war meter across the top shows which team has the upper hand. EA's written guide says a contested flag stops capture progress; its video explainer, in the clip, says a squad that outnumbers the enemy on a point pushes the bar its way, so one extra teammate can swing a contest.
Tickets: 1,000 or 1,200?
EA's mode guide gives 1,000 lives per team "in default settings", which is the number a Portal host starts from. In official matches the count is 1,200: after update 1.1.3.0 the Conquest scoreboard wrongly showed 1,000, and EA listed it among unintended changes it reverted on Dec 11, 2025 ("Conquest tickets wrongly showing 1,000 instead of 1,200"). EA has not published a per-map ticket table, so treat 1,200 as the playlist figure as of that fix.
Critical Mission Success
New to Battlefield 6 is an outright win: take every flag on the map and hold all of them for a full minute, and the other team loses by Critical Mission Failure, even if it has more tickets. Neutralizing any one flag inside that minute stops the clock. In practice it ends lopsided rounds early instead of making the losing side wait out a long bleed.
Maps and Combat Zones
Battlefield 6 draws a hand-made Combat Zone for each mode on each map, and Conquest always gets the largest. EA's launch map guide names them: Quicksands on New Sobek City, King's Battery on Iberian Offensive, River's Edge on Mirak Valley, Ridge 13 on Liberation Peak, Olympia on Manhattan Bridge, Columbia on Empire State and Scorched Earth on Operation Firestorm. On Blackwell Fields, Conquest uses the whole badlands while Breakthrough and smaller modes stay around the depot and scrapyard (EA, Oct 28, 2025).
The vehicle maps added since all carry it: Eastwood, Contaminated, Railway to Golmud, Tsuru Reef, Wake Island, Vegas Strip and Area 51. Tsuru Reef is the largest map in the game and was built for Naval Warfare and Boats, so its Conquest adds boats and, from Aug 18, 2026, carriers. The full list with sizes is on Maps.
Not every Conquest layout landed well. GravityBFTV's Aug 18, 2025 review of the beta maps, in the clip, calls Liberation Peak's six-flag Conquest repetitive and its hilltop flags a sniper haven, a complaint IGN's review repeated at launch. Two fixes later changed how Conquest plays on specific maps. Update 1.1.3.0 on Dec 9, 2025 stopped flags on Manhattan Bridge from being captured from rooftops, and made Battle Pickups (the railgun, minigun and other power weapons) spawn only once their flag is owned by a team. Headquarters are protected by a Phalanx defense that shoots down incoming projectiles, which EA mentioned when it fixed its effects in 1.2.1.0.
Conquest in Ice Lock, Portal and Custom Lobbies
Conquest is also the mode EA reaches for first when it builds something new. Ice Lock, the Winter Offensive event of Dec 9, 2025, ran Conquest and Domination with a Freeze mechanic on a frozen Empire State (rules on Limited-Time Modes). Custom Lobbies and Spectator Mode launched on Aug 18, 2026 supporting only Battle Royale Quads and Conquest. In Portal, Conquest is one of the Verified templates with full progression, bots were allowed back into Verified Conquest on Nov 6, 2025 (up to 12, with rounds starting at 8 players), and EA has promoted community versions such as ViperStudiosAndy's Night Ops Conquest (code 1XVU6). Anyone can play Conquest alone by hosting a Verified Conquest experience locally, EA said on Oct 21, 2026. More on Portal and Server Browser.
How to win Conquest
These come from EA's own mode text and from the way the ticket rules work. In the clip, Arekkz Gaming's Oct 15, 2025 new player guide makes the first point every Conquest player should know: ping for a revive when you are downed, because a revived soldier does not use up a ticket.
- Count flags, not kills. The bleed is constant. Look at the flag bar before the kill feed: if you hold fewer flags, you are losing, whatever the score.
- Revive everything. A revived soldier costs no ticket. EA says it outright: "Performing revives prevents lives being lost". A Support who revives ten players in a round saves ten tickets.
- Take the back flag. A squad that captures a lightly guarded flag behind the enemy's line pulls defenders off the front and shifts the bleed two ways at once.
- Use vehicles to capture, not just to fight. A tank or a transport helicopter on a flag counts toward the capture and survives the defenders far longer than infantry.
- Spawn where you are needed. The Assault's Deploy Beacon and the APCs that act as spawn points keep a squad on a contested flag instead of running from HQ; see Movement, Squads and Revives.
- Play the objective, then the minute. When your team holds all but one flag, every squad that is free should be on that last flag: Critical Mission Success ends the round.
EA's own explainer ends on the same points: one coordinated squad on a point can hold off an enemy push, tanks anchor a defense or clear a flag, the Recon's scanner and pings give the squad intel, and Deploy Beacons keep it near contested points.
GravityBFTV's Feb 8, 2026 map design breakdown, in the clip, argues that bringing both headquarters closer together in Conquest was "clearly a mistake", using Operation Firestorm, whose older versions never had the problem: the big maps lose the long trip to the front that made classic Conquest feel like a battle.
We think Conquest is where Battlefield 6 plays best, and its weak spot is the map, not the mode. The launch maps were built smaller than the series' usual scale, and Conquest felt that the most, which is why the two big remakes, Railway to Golmud and Wake Island, drew the crowds they did: EA said Golmud had more than 16 million hours played in Season 3 alone. Our view is that the most useful single change left for the mode would be bigger Conquest layouts on the reworks of Blackwell Fields and New Sobek City that EA promised for Frozen Aces on Dec 8, 2026. Enders' Oct 11, 2026 Season 5 video, in the clip, lists what those reworks bring, including bigger flight areas and a new Conquest flag on Blackwell Fields.
Conquest on your PC
Conquest is the heaviest test of a processor in Battlefield 6, because 64 players, vehicles and destruction all run at once. In Digital Foundry's PC review of Oct 18, 2025, an RTX 4060 with a Ryzen 5 3600 ran Conquest at 90 to 100 frames per second where the graphics card set the limit, but with a much spikier frame time graph than the same card with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D. Digital Foundry's advice is to cap the frame rate at the lowest average your processor holds. Settings and the rest of the advice are on Best Settings and Performance.
Is Conquest the most played mode?
EA has not ranked its modes. The closest thing is its Jul 15, 2026 note that Conquest, Breakthrough and Battle Royale were within roughly 200 million hours of one another through Season 3. Conquest wins also feed challenges: EA cut the "Conquest 2" assignment from five wins to two on Nov 5, 2025, one of more than 90 challenge changes that day. How Conquest compares with the other modes is on Game Modes.
