Movement, Squads and Revives
Battlefield 6 moves with sprinting, sliding, crouch-sprinting, a landing roll, leaning and weapon mounting, and plays in four-player squads that spawn on each other, spot with a ping wheel and revive with drag-and-revive. Any class can revive a squadmate, Support can revive anyone, and a revive costs no ticket.
Battlefield 6 moves on what EA calls the Kinesthetic Combat System: drag-and-revive, peeking and leaning around corners, a combat roll that cuts fall damage, weapon mounting on cover to reduce recoil, and riding on the outside of vehicles (EA's Battlefield 101, Oct 10, 2025). EA is plain about the limits: "The only parkour in Battlefield is a tactical roll off a ledge" (EA's new player guide, Oct 10, 2025). Arekkz Gaming's Oct 15, 2025 new player guide walks through the basics in the clip: crouch-sprint, the peek prompt behind cover, sliding and the roll. This page covers how you move, how squads work and how reviving works; class gadgets are on Classes.

Moving: sprint, slide, roll and dive
What you hold changes your speed. EA's loadout guide says the Combat Knife gives the fastest infantry ground speed and the Sledgehammer the slowest (EA). jackfrags shows it in his Oct 27, 2025 tips video: hold melee to pull the knife and you run noticeably faster than with a gun out, and the Defibrillator and Repair Tool are quicker to run with than a rifle too.
Hold crouch while sprinting for a crouch-sprint, a lower profile at a decent speed for trenches and low walls. Hold back and prone to dive onto your back, which lets you shoot while lying facing the way you came.
Slides come from sprinting and pressing crouch, or from a jump with crouch pressed in the air, and you can aim during them (KeenGamer, Oct 13, 2025). The launch patch cut slide-to-jump momentum, lowered repeated jumps and made firing while jumping or sliding less accurate (Dexerto, Oct 9, 2025), and EA reverted an unintended extra momentum loss on chained jumps and slides in December 2025 (EA on Steam, Dec 11, 2025).
Movement players still find tech. aksu02's Oct 26, 2025 advanced movement guide shows the "steady aim" jump: uncrouch at the instant you land to remove the sideways wobble after a jump. It matters more here than in older games because Battlefield 6 fires from the gun barrel, so where the barrel wobbles, the bullets go.
The landing roll: press crouch (or jump) just before you hit the ground after a long fall to cut the damage and keep your momentum, within limits. The same clip covers suppression: shooting near enemies stops their health regenerating, and standing in a Supply Bag's radius is the way to heal while suppressed.
Mounting, leaning and bipods
Near a wall or ledge, a mount icon appears. Aim, and you lean around or over the surface; press melee while aiming to lock into a mounted firing position. Prone, or mounted, the same key deploys a bipod for better weapon handling. On a keyboard it is F, on a controller the right stick (KeenGamer, Oct 13, 2025). Support's Deployable Cover is a mount point you can carry (Support).
There is no manual lean key: peeking happens when you aim at a corner or ledge with the prompt showing, and the options let you limit it to one side. Burst and tap fire beat holding the trigger on most guns, and moving while shooting adds spread; the guns themselves are on Weapons.
Squads
A squad is four players, ideally one of each class, though EA's Squad Tactics guide says to double up on a class when the match calls for it (EA, Apr 9, 2026). One player is the squad leader, marked by a cross icon. Arekkz Gaming points out that a leader who pings an objective gives the squad an order, and capturing or defending it pays a squad order bonus.
You can spawn on any living squadmate who is out of combat, on a squad's Deploy Beacon (an Assault gadget) or at your team's points. Assault's Mission Focused trait makes an Assault leave combat state sooner so the squad can deploy on them, and Recon's Spec Ops path does the same for a player who goes prone. Playing in a party of two or more also raises your XP; see Progression and Unlocks.
Squads matter more than kills in Battlefield 6's scoring. EA's advice, in its own words, is to attack from several angles and prioritize reviving. Platoons, a planned clan-like system of up to 100 players with a squad XP bonus, were delayed to 2027 on Nov 6, 2026 (EA, Oct 21, 2026; Kotaku, Nov 6, 2026). See Roadmap and Season 6.
Revives and drag-and-revive
When you go down, call for a revive: it marks you for medics and shows how far away they are. In Conquest and other ticket modes a revived player costs the team no ticket, while a respawn does (MP1st, Oct 10, 2025). The reviver can drag you around a corner or into cover while reviving.
How it works, per EA:
- Hold the prompt beside a downed teammate. They come back at reduced health after several seconds (EA's new player guide).
- You can drag them to cover while reviving, unless you are prone.
- Any class can revive a squadmate. Support can revive any teammate, faster, and instantly with the Defibrillator (EA Squad Tactics).
- A revive pauses when the game senses danger nearby.
- Since Season 4 on Jul 21, 2026 you can also drag and revive in water (EA).
- A Recon's sniper headshot with the Confirmed Kill perk cannot be revived (Recon).
Smoke first, then revive: a Support's smoke hides the revive and clears enemy spot markers inside it. The clip moves on to pinging, which you can still do while downed (KeenGamer), so a downed player still helps the team.
Players revived each other 30.9 million times in the August 2025 open beta and 871 million times across 2025 (MP1st, Aug 21, 2025; EA, Dec 19, 2025). We think drag-and-revive is the best new mechanic in the game: it turns a revive from a gamble in the open into a choice about cover, and it is why a squad that sticks together loses far fewer tickets than four players who do not.
Spotting
The minimap shows enemies with their height: a solid diamond means the same level as you, an up arrow above, a down arrow below. An enemy you look at gets a hollow diamond only you see; once spotted, it turns solid for the whole team, as jackfrags shows.
Everyone spots with the ping key, and holding it opens the ping wheel, with preset callouts such as requests for ammunition, health or a repair (EA Squad Tactics). Recon spots for real just by aiming (Recon). Firing an unsuppressed gun shows you on the enemy minimap; since the Season 2 update, unsuppressed fire spots you in the world only within 54 m instead of 75 m (EA, Feb 13, 2026).
A double-tap of ping on open ground shows the distance to that spot in meters, which is how snipers range a target before adjusting for drop.
Soldier visibility and suppression are on EA's list of things it is still working on, as of its 2026 roadmap (EA). In our view better visibility would help squads more than any new gadget, because most "died behind cover" complaints come down to not seeing who shot you; EA's own fix for one such cause, desynced stance changes, came in update 1.2.3.5 on May 5, 2026 (EA on Steam).
Frequently asked questions
How big are squads in Battlefield 6?
Four players. EA suggests one of each class, doubling up when the match needs it.
Can every class revive?
Every class can revive its own squadmates. Only Support can revive players from other squads, and only Support has the Defibrillator.
Does reviving cost a ticket?
No. A revived player costs no ticket; respawning does, which is why revives win ticket modes.
How do I slide in Battlefield 6?
Sprint and press crouch, or jump and press crouch in the air. The launch patch cut how much momentum a slide-jump keeps.
How do I reduce fall damage?
Press crouch or jump just before you land to roll. Assault's Frontliner path also reduces fall damage.
How do I mount my weapon?
Aim near a wall or ledge until the mount icon shows, then press melee (F on PC, right stick on controller) to lock in. Prone, the same key deploys a bipod.

ClassesBattlefield 6 has four classes, Assault, Engineer, Support and Recon, each with a fixed signature gadget, trait and weapon bonus, two training paths and an active ability. In most modes any class can carry any gun; Closed Weapon playlists keep each class to its signature weapon plus carbines, DMRs and shotguns.
-
SupportSupport is Battlefield 6's medic and ammo class. It carries the Supply Bag, can revive any teammate, handles LMGs with no sprint penalty, and brings the Defibrillator, smoke, intercept systems, Deployable Cover and the Portable Mortar; its training paths are Combat Medic and Fire Support.
-
WeaponsBattlefield 6 has 67 guns in eight categories as of Nov 8, 2026 (Season 5), up from 45 at launch, and the NSW4 Carbine makes it 68 on Nov 10, 2026. EA's own list shows one fewer because it leaves out the RPKM, which is still in the game. Every gun is listed here with the season it arrived.
-
AssaultAssault is Battlefield 6's objective class. It carries the Adrenaline Injector, captures and arms objectives faster, uses assault rifles best, and brings ladders, grenade launchers, a Deploy Beacon or a second primary weapon; its training paths are Frontliner and Breacher.
-
Progression and UnlocksBattlefield 6 progression runs on Career Rank, which unlocks a functional item at every rank from 2 to 50 and cosmetics after, plus assignments that unlock the last guns, gadgets and training paths, and weapon and vehicle mastery to rank 50. EA has sped it up several times since launch, most in March 2026.
