Support
Support is Battlefield 6's medic and ammo class. It carries the Supply Bag, can revive any teammate, handles LMGs with no sprint penalty, and brings the Defibrillator, smoke, intercept systems, Deployable Cover and the Portable Mortar; its training paths are Combat Medic and Fire Support.
Support is Battlefield 6's medic: EA describes it as the healer and reviver, with instant revives, healing, ammo, interception of incoming projectiles, suppressive fire and cover (EA's Support page, Apr 9, 2026). It is the only class that can revive any teammate rather than only its own squad, and its Defibrillator brings players back at full health. IGN's multiplayer review found keeping allies alive "rewarding in its own right," since every revive saves a ticket. Across 2025, players revived each other 871 million times in Battlefield 6 and REDSEC (EA, Dec 19, 2025). How it compares with the other classes is on Classes.

Signature set: Supply Bag, Field Sustainment and the LMG
The Supply Bag refills ammunition, grenades and gadget charges for everyone in its radius, and it can be thrown onto a vehicle as a mobile resupply (EA). Field Sustainment means any teammate can walk up and interact with you for a health pack, so a Support is a resupply point even when the bag is on cooldown. ItalianSpartacus's Oct 16, 2025 guide calls the two together what "keeps your team online," and reminds non-Supports to simply walk up to the nearest one.
The second trait, Team Revives, is the one that defines the class: Support can revive any teammate, not only squadmates (EA). Everyone else can only pick up their own squad; see Movement, Squads and Revives.
The LMG bonus is the best signature weapon perk in the game in ItalianSpartacus's view: no sprint speed penalty while carrying an LMG and a faster move into aiming, which covers the weapon type's slowest trait. The guns are on LMGs.
Defibrillator and the other gadgets
The Defibrillator revives instantly and "flatlines" enemies it hits (EA). Tap it and the teammate comes back with partial health; hold it to charge first, as jackfrags shows in his Oct 27, 2025 tips, and they come back at full health. Update 1.2.3.0 on Apr 14, 2026 reworked it: a full charge now takes 1 second instead of 0.65, the paddles hold 3 charges, a revive gives 50 to 100 health depending on the charge, and a fully charged shock does 100 damage instead of 60 (EA). The clip predates the rework; its "one full charge" finding no longer holds.
| Gadget | What it does |
|---|---|
| Defibrillator | Instant revive, 50 to 100 health by charge, 3 charges; a charged shock kills enemies. |
| Supply Pouch | A one-time refill of ammunition and a little health; no gadgets or grenades. |
| Deployable Cover | A temporary barrier and a mount point for LMGs and bipod weapons; Engineers can repair it. |
| Grenade Intercept System | Shoots down slower thrown and launched grenades. |
| Missile Intercept System | Stops missiles, mortar shells and tank shells, not grenades. |
| Smoke Grenade Launcher | Smoke that blocks vision and spotting, prevents lock-on and clears spot markers on soldiers inside it. |
| Airburst Incendiary Launcher | Bursts in mid-air over cover and burns a small area; lightly damages vehicles. |
| Portable Mortar | High-explosive or smoke shells; gets more accurate as it fires; its position shows after the first volley. |
Source: EA's Support page (Apr 9, 2026).
The two intercept systems split the work: the grenade one destroys hand-thrown and launched grenades a few times before it switches off, and the missile one also stops mortar and tank shells. ItalianSpartacus counts three intercepts by default, five with the Combat Medic level that boosts defensive gadgets, as of his launch-era test.
The Portable Mortar is tempting, but the moment you fire it you appear on the enemy's minimap. The clip suggests starting with smoke shells, which give less away, and keeping in mind that the spread tightens the more rounds you fire at one spot.
Smoke is Support's best tool
Only Support has the Smoke Grenade, and ItalianSpartacus calls it the strongest grenade in the game: nothing zones out enemies or opens lanes for your team the same way. EA says smoke hides movement and blocks vehicle lock-on. The other class grenade, the Incendiary Grenade, burns over time; going prone in the fire reduces the damage (EA).
Smoke also clears spot markers from every soldier inside it. When a Recon drone or UAV has painted your squad, one smoke wipes that information off the enemy's screen. Throw it in front of the enemy line, not at your own feet, and a second one at an angle to the first makes a curtain the whole team can move behind.
GameSpot's class guide gives the same advice for revives: a smoke over an incapacitated teammate in a firefight lets you bring them back "right under their noses."
Training paths: Combat Medic and Fire Support
Both paths share Restock Allies, which resupplies and heals nearby friendlies over several seconds and speeds up revives. The choice is between getting the team up and holding a position.
| Combat Medic | Fire Support | |
|---|---|---|
| How to get it | Open by default | Support Class Assignment |
| Passive | Urgent Aid: faster dragging and reviving | Logistics Expert: faster Supply Bag ammunition |
| Level 1 | Revive Recovery: regenerate while reviving, paused by damage | Explosives Resistant: 25% less splash damage while prone or mounted |
| Level 2 | Defense-Focused: defensive gadgets recharge faster, more intercepts, longer missile tracking, tougher Deployable Cover | Steady Aim: better control when mounted |
| Plays like | A medic who also shields the squad | An LMG gunner on a mounted line |
Source: EA's Support page (Apr 9, 2026). ItalianSpartacus finds Fire Support "a little too aimless" and picks Combat Medic, mostly for Defense-Focused.
We agree with him: Combat Medic is the better path in almost every mode, because its revive speed and stronger intercepts both turn into saved tickets. Fire Support earns its place in one setting, a defender on Breakthrough or Rush who mounts an LMG on Deployable Cover over a choke point and stays there. We also think Support is the class a new player should try second, after Assault: it scores well without good aim, and it teaches where fights happen.
How to play Support
Think defensively. Deployable Cover, intercepts and the mortar make Support the only class that can turn a capture point into a bunker. Always revive, but do it smartly: running out to a downed teammate and dying gives the other team two tickets instead of one. Move cover to cover and smoke first.
Keep to the Assault players: they take the point, you keep them alive and stocked. EA's advice is to prioritize revives, since a revive costs no ticket and a respawn does (EA Squad Tactics, Apr 9, 2026; MP1st, Oct 10, 2025). The Support revive assignment that once asked for 200 revives was cut to 60 on Nov 5, 2025 (EA on Steam). LMG builds are on Best Loadouts.
Support in REDSEC (Season 5)
From Season 5 on Oct 13, 2026, Support in the REDSEC battle royale has one four-level path and starts with the Supply Pouch and Deployable Cover (2.1.1.0 notes, Oct 12, 2026):
- Level 1: better control when mounted.
- Level 2: 20% faster drags, revives 2.5 seconds quicker, and 10% faster sprinting under heavy fire.
- Level 3: revived teammates get an armor plate, and Deployable Cover spawns a lootable plate.
- Level 4: gadget resupply 10% faster per improvement, reset on death.
The Supply Bag and Defibrillator moved into REDSEC's loot pool that season (EA, Oct 1, 2026). None of this changes Support in multiplayer.
Frequently asked questions
Can Support revive anyone?
Yes. Support's Team Revives trait lets it revive any teammate; the other classes can revive only their own squad.
How does the Defibrillator work now?
Since Apr 14, 2026 it holds 3 charges and takes 1 second to charge fully. A tap revives with less health, a full charge with up to 100, and a charged shock deals 100 damage to an enemy.
What is the difference between the Supply Bag and the Supply Pouch?
The Supply Bag is the signature gadget: a placed or thrown bag that refills ammunition, grenades and gadgets for everyone near it. The Supply Pouch is a one-time handout of ammunition and a little health. EA said on Oct 21, 2026 that the Pouch is under review.
Which Support training path is best?
Combat Medic for most players, for faster revives and stronger defensive gadgets. Fire Support suits a mounted LMG player holding one spot.
Does Support get an LMG penalty when sprinting?
No. Support's signature weapon bonus removes the sprint speed penalty for carrying an LMG.

BreakthroughBreakthrough is Battlefield 6's attack-and-defend mode: attackers with a limited pool of lives must hold every flag of a sector at once to push the front line forward, and defenders with unlimited lives try to drain that pool. It launched at 64 players; since Nov 13, 2025 six maps run it at 48, with no EA statement.

RushRush is Battlefield 6's 12v12 attack-and-defend mode: attackers with limited lives arm pairs of M-COM stations that explode 30 seconds later, defenders with unlimited lives defuse them, and every destroyed pair moves the fight to the next sector. EA rebuilt every Rush layout after the beta and added Rush to Mirak Valley on Feb 17, 2026.
