Fort Lyndon

Fort Lyndon is REDSEC's battle royale map, a Southern California military base, beach town and suburbs that EA calls the largest Battlefield map ever created, with 9 major and 16 smaller points of interest. This page covers its places, where to land, its vehicles, the ring and how it changed by season.

Fort Lyndon is the map of REDSEC's battle royale: a fictional military base and the Southern California town around it, which EA calls "the largest Battlefield map ever created", with urban centers, military compounds and suburbs, and 9 major and 16 additional points of interest (EA Season 1 roadmap, Oct 2025). IGN's review (Nov 11, 2025) describes the mix: blown-out shops and construction sites to loot, "memorable named locations like the golf course and the lighthouse", high vantage points for snipers and tight corridors for close fights. It is REDSEC's own map, not a Battlefield 6 multiplayer map, and EA has said it has no plans to bring its points of interest to core multiplayer (EA's More to Season 5, Oct 21, 2026). The multiplayer maps are on Maps.

Points of interest

EA's guides name these places on Fort Lyndon, as of Nov 8, 2026:

Place What EA says Source
Marina On the north edge of the Initiation area New player guide, Oct 28, 2025
Fleetview Ridge On the north edge of the Initiation area New player guide
Golf Course North edge of the Initiation area; a Supermoto course New player guide; Supermoto guide
Defense Nexus The west edge of the Initiation area New player guide
Main Street district A major point of interest New player guide
Downtown towers Massive structures that can be destroyed New player guide
Tech Campus A Supermoto course Supermoto guide, Mar 31, 2026
Jewel Beach A Supermoto course Supermoto guide

Defense Testing Complex 3 Underground tunnels with chests; exits by rappel line Season 2 roadmap
Crashed USS Grant The NATO carrier, crashed on the map Update 1.4.2.0, Aug 14, 2026

The lighthouse, which IGN names beside the golf course, does not appear by name in EA's guides.

Where to land

EA's advice for new players is to stay with your squad, avoid other landing parties, and look at the unnamed suburbs, which "are often relatively safe"; hot drops change from match to match, and every second in the air gives other squads more time to arm (EA new player guide). The Squad Leader calls the jump, the others can break away, and the parachute opens by itself near the ground unless you turn that off. Since Season 5, Casual Battle Royale shows Recommended Drop Zones (EA's Season 5 and beyond, Oct 1, 2026).

Recorded play shows why some places are always busy. In jackfrags's Apr 24, 2026 match, squads converge on the lighthouse at the end, and the reason is said out loud: "Because they want the helicopter." A vehicle spawn is worth a fight late in a match, when the ring is closing.

The underground is the high-stakes drop. The same video shows jackfrags's squad heading "in the basement" in what he calls "a very high risk, high reward sort of scenario", fighting other squads in near darkness around a server room. EA added Defense Testing Complex 3, an underground point of interest with chests and rappel exits, on Mar 17, 2026 (Season 2 roadmap).

Our own advice, marked as ours: we think a squad's best first drop is a suburb near the end of the flight path, close to a vehicle, then loot and move toward the named places once the first circle shows. Drop into downtown or the underground only if your squad is confident, because the loot is better and so is the competition.

How big is Fort Lyndon?

EA has not published its size in square kilometers. IGN's reviewer framed it another way: 100 players is only about 50% more than the 64 in Battlefield 6's All-Out Warfare, but Fort Lyndon is "definitely more than 50% bigger" than an average Battlefield 6 map, and "this math does REDSEC no favors", because the open ground gives everyone more places to hide.

GamingBolt (Oct 29, 2025) saw the same size as a strength: unlike so many of Battlefield 6's maps, it is "actually big and sprawling", with room for vehicles and enough avenues for infantry, from massive buildings and warehouses to golf courses.

We think both are right, and that it explains why REDSEC's later modes went smaller: Solos cut the count to 80, and Rapid Royale moved to 36 players on Vegas Strip and Mirak Valley.

Vehicles on Fort Lyndon

Helicopters, boats and golf carts are spread across the map, and combat vehicles come as higher-risk rewards (EA community update). The Turfpro PTV Royale golf cart is found only in matches; vehicle keycards from missions unlock a heavy tank (EA Season 1 roadmap). The AH-6 Little Bird arrived on Feb 17, 2026 and the M1030-1 dirt bike on Mar 17, 2026 (Season 2 roadmap). The 7.7m NSW RHIB boat began here and moved to multiplayer naval maps in Season 4. Battle Royale Solos and Rapid Royale leave out main battle tanks and IFVs. Every vehicle is on Vehicles.

Supplies also come from the sky. In jackfrags's match, moments after the lighthouse fight, a custom weapon drop lands next to his squad, and the enemy squad nearby goes for it instead of fighting.

The ring of fire

REDSEC's closing circle, which EA calls the Circle of Death and "the deadliest ring in BR", is the map's signature. One step into it downs and eliminates you almost at once; the mini-map shades it red, and a red skull on the HUD shows how far it is (EA new player guide). Since update 1.4.3.0 (Sep 14, 2026) it also destroys vehicles and gadgets (EA), so you can no longer park a tank at its edge.

IGN found that the slow ring changes how you take missions: picking a bomb mission close to the "slow and unthreatening firestorm" puts anyone who wants to defuse it right at the edge of the smoke.

Fort Lyndon in the story

Fort Lyndon also carries the campaign's war onto American soil. GamingBolt's review opens on REDSEC's premise: an apparently innocent disaster at Fort Lyndon "could be a larger attack by the Pax Armata". See Pax Armata and Campaign Story and Ending.
