Weapons

Battlefield 6 has 67 guns in eight categories as of Nov 8, 2026 (Season 5), up from 45 at launch, and the NSW4 Carbine makes it 68 on Nov 10, 2026. EA's own list shows one fewer because it leaves out the RPKM, which is still in the game. Every gun is listed here with the season it arrived.

Battlefield 6 has 67 guns as of Nov 8, 2026, by our count: the 62 on EA's loadout page (updated Jul 21, 2026), the RPKM light machine gun that page leaves out, and the four that Season 5 added on Oct 13, 2026, the Mk 24, RSPR, Z84M and ELR-40. The game launched with 45 guns in eight categories, and the NSW4 Carbine arrives with Phase 2 on Nov 10, 2026, making 68. As zen3D puts it in his Jun 4, 2026 weapon guide, every gun is "a tool designed for a specific job at a specific range". This page is the list: one line per gun with the season it came in. How each category plays, its patch history and the guns creators rate are on the category pages, Assault Rifles and Carbines, SMGs, LMGs, DMRs and Sniper Rifles and Shotguns and Pistols; builds are on Attachments and Best Loadouts.

How weapons work

Every primary belongs to a category, and each class has one category as its Signature Weapon: assault rifles for Assault, SMGs for Engineer, LMGs for Support and sniper rifles for Recon. In Closed Weapon modes a class may take only its signature category, plus the carbines, DMRs and shotguns that every class shares; in Open Weapon modes anyone takes anything. Each class also gets a bonus with its own signature gun, explained on Classes. A loadout carries a primary, a secondary, gadgets, a throwable and a melee weapon, and the Loadout screen has a Firing Range that shows the damage of each hit at several distances.

Each gun has its own Hardware rank: using it earns Hardware XP, ranks unlock attachments, Weapon Packages and camos, and ranks 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 give Bronze to Elite badges (EA, Apr 14, 2026). Rank 50 also gives a gilded Weapon Package. WhosImmortal notes in his Oct 15, 2026 builds that most useful attachments arrive by weapon level 20 to 30, so a gun is competitive long before it is maxed. How attachments and their 100-point budget work is on Attachments; Career Rank unlocks are on Progression and Unlocks.

How the count grew

The arsenal has grown by four or five guns a season, with a new gun in most phases. The running totals below are our own sum of EA's season posts, checked against the two counts EA has published itself.

When Guns added Total
Launch, Oct 10, 2025 45 45 (press count)
Season 1 (Oct 28 to Nov 18, 2025) SOR-300SC, Mini Scout, GGH-22, DB-12, M357 Trait 50
Season 2 (Feb 17 to Mar 17, 2026) VCR-2, M121 A2, GRT-CPS, CZ3A1, vz. 61 55
Season 3 (May 12 to Jun 9, 2026) M16A4, RPK-74M, L115A3, PP-19 59 (EA said 58)
Season 4 (Jul 21 to Aug 18, 2026) EF88, BROD 3, VSSM, Interdictor 63 (EA's page lists 62)
Season 5 (Oct 13, 2026) Mk 24, RSPR, Z84M, ELR-40 67
Season 5 Phase 2 (Nov 10, 2026) NSW4 68

EA said in its Jul 15, 2026 community update that weapons had grown to 58 before Season 4, and its loadout page lists 62 after Season 4 with nine LMGs. Both EA figures are one lower than the press launch list plus EA's additions, and the gap is in one place: the RPKM, an LMG on the launch lists and in Dexerto's Nov 18, 2025 LMG ranking, is not on EA's page.

The RPKM has not left the game, though. zen3D's Jun 4, 2026 weapon guide, recorded in Season 3, compares the new RPK-74M with "the KTS 100 and the RPKM" at range and finds the RPKM the fastest killer of the three up to about 21 meters, and Maxiq still names it among the long-range LMGs in his Oct 25, 2026 Season 5 rundown. So we count it: 67 today, one more than EA's page plus Season 5.

We think the pace tells you what to expect next: every phase since Season 2 has added one to four guns, EA's Season 5 roadmap promises "new weapons and gear" for Frozen Aces on Dec 8, 2026, and EA said on Oct 21, 2026 that the much-requested M9 pistol "has not been forgotten". We expect the game to pass 70 guns by the end of Season 5 and the M9 to be among the first 2027 additions.

New in Season 5

Season 5 opened on Oct 13, 2026 with four guns, one each for four categories, described in EA's 2.1.1.0 notes: the Mk 24 assault rifle, which "becomes deadlier at longer ranges" but has a small magazine; the RSPR, a compact personal defense weapon (PDW) firing a rifle cartridge, better at range than most PDWs but with more recoil; the Z84M, a belt-fed LMG with 100 rounds; and the ELR-40, a bolt-action sniper rifle whose single-shot option moves its sweet spot closer. The NSW4 Carbine joins on Nov 10 with subsonic ammo by default and a Supersonic option. In Enders' Oct 16, 2026 Mk 24 guide the rifle has a 1.57x headshot multiplier by default and kills in four body shots out to 75 m; each new gun is covered on its category page.

How to unlock guns

Six guns are unlocked from the start, one per main category: the M433, SGX, L110, M2010 ESR, M87A1 and P18. The rest come from Career Rank, from assignments and from each season's battle pass. EA's progression page gives the M4A1 at Career Rank 2 and the TR-7 at Rank 50, and puts the KORD 6P67 and SCW-10 behind weapon assignments (EA, Apr 14, 2026). Season guns sit on the free tiers of the pass: EA said in Season 1 that the free tiers hold "all functional content such as Weapons", and the Season 3 pass made the L115, M16A4 and RPK-74M free. Enders shows the Mk 24 unlocking at about tier 10 of the Audacious Breach section of the Season 5 pass. Missed a season's guns? Catch-up challenges bring them back: Season 2 offered the GGH-22, Mini Scout and SOR-300SC at Career Rank 20, and 2.1.1.0 added challenges for the BROD 3, Interdictor and VSSM. More on Battle Pass and Battlefield Pro.

Battle Pickups and melee

Not every weapon goes in a loadout. Battle Pickups are found on the map: the Rorsch Mk-2 SMRW railgun and the MP-RMG minigun since Nov 18, 2025, back after a tuning pass in July 2026, and the DS-23 Pulse Rifle of the Dead Space event (Oct 20 to Nov 10, 2026). Melee weapons started with the Combat Knife and Sledgehammer and have grown with the Ice Climbing Axe (Dec 9, 2025), the KAPOK 14" Machete (Apr 2026), the EOD Bot Arm (Jun 30, 2026) and the Royal Navy Dive Knife (Sep 15, 2026).

Frequently asked questions

How many guns are in Battlefield 6?

67 as of Nov 8, 2026, in Season 5, by our count, and 68 once the NSW4 Carbine arrives on Nov 10, 2026. EA's own list shows one fewer because it omits the RPKM. The game launched with 45.

Which category has the most guns?

Assault rifles, with 12 since the Mk 24, then SMGs with 11 counting the RSPR, and LMGs with 11 counting the RPKM and the Z84M.

Is the RPKM still in the game?

Yes. EA's loadout page, updated Jul 21, 2026, leaves it out, but creators still use and compare it in Jun and Oct 2026 videos. We found no EA statement on the omission as of Nov 8, 2026.

Are new guns paid?

Not so far: EA puts each season's guns on the free tiers of the battle pass and offers catch-up challenges later. Paid content is cosmetic, such as Weapon Packages.

Is the M9 coming?

Not announced. EA said on Oct 21, 2026 that it has not been forgotten and that 2027 hardware will be shared early in the new year.
