1:26 Season 5, "Siege of Vegas", is the season of Battlefield 6 being played as of Nov 8, 2026: it went live on Oct 13, 2026 with Game Update 2.1.1.0, opening with two new maps, Vegas Strip and Area 51. It runs in three phases: Siege of Vegas from Oct 13, Casino Heist from Nov 10 and Frozen Aces from Dec 8, the last two announced but not yet out. EA calls it "the start of Year 2". On Nov 6, 2026 the studio said Platoons and the B-81 Cavalry, both due in Phase 3, slip to 2027. Every season is listed on Seasons.

Phase 1: Siege of Vegas (Oct 13 to Nov 10, 2026)

2:20 Update 2.1.1.0 downloaded from 08:00 UTC on Oct 13, 2026, with the season live at 12:00 UTC. It added four weapons: the Mk 24 assault rifle, strong at range with a small magazine; the RSPR, a PDW good at range but with high recoil; the Z84M, a belt-fed LMG with 100 rounds; and the ELR-40 bolt-action sniper rifle, whose single-shot ammo option moves its sweet spot closer. All four are on Weapons.

In WhosImmortal's Oct 13, 2026 walkthrough, Battlefield Pro's instant unlocks include a new character skin, a Support skin, an AK4D weapon package and an Ace of Spades parachute, and the four paths are Audacious Breach, Fate's Reckoning, Access Defied and King's Reign, with the Mk 24 inside the first. 0:50 The two maps pull in opposite directions. Vegas Strip is large-scale vehicle combat among casinos, with rooftop ziplines, and Area 51 mixes surface fighting with underground tunnels, a dirt bike, a jet and an Air Traffic Control tower. In jackfrags' Oct 12, 2026 preview play, Vegas Strip ran as a five-flag Conquest map among hotels and casinos, one hotel with a hole torn through it, and he used the new RSPR there. Kotaku's one-year retrospective called the two maps "big hits" (Oct 23, 2026).

11:47 On Area 51, jackfrags counted nine Conquest objectives, saw every vehicle type, compared its size and layout with Battlefield 4's Silk Road, and tried the ELR-40, whose single-shot ammo mode fires one bullet at a time.

The patch also rebuilt anti-air. The 35mm HVAA's damage to infantry went from 13 to 25, to helicopters from 26 to 45 and to jets from 32.5 to 62.5, and its overheat penalty was removed, while the Mobile AA turret rotates 50% faster. Helicopters went the other way: a Scout Helicopter now takes 7 Light Rocket hits instead of 4, an Attack Helicopter 9 instead of 5. Tank rear hits at 86 to 94 degrees deal 2.5 times damage, the GDF-009 fires at 1,100 RPM instead of 720, and gamepad recoil compensation dropped from 11% to 5%. On Oct 21 EA said the vehicle changes were under review, with "no quick knee-jerk adjustments". The full list belongs on Vehicles and Jets.

9:18 In REDSEC, Rapid Royale arrived in Trios and Solos, with fewer players, high-value loot, a faster Ring of Fire and redeploys earned through eliminations, and Ranked Battle Royale started a new season. TheTacticalBrit, who expected "an all-time stinker", called it a lot of fun on Oct 12, 2026: battle royale made faster, like Warzone's Resurgence, played on Vegas Strip and Mirak Valley. Gauntlet left the active playlist and stays only as a Verified Portal mode (Gauntlet). A free trial ran Oct 15 to 19 on PlayStation and Steam.

Battlefield x Dead Space: Convergence

The crossover event started Oct 20, 2026. Its centerpiece is Marker Incursion, a 16-player PvE mode against Marked Soldiers and Necromorphs; the DS-23 Pulse Rifle appears as a Battle Pickup (also in battle royale and Rapid Royale), Semiconductors are the event currency, and the Aegis VII soldier skin is the top reward. EA's own 2.1.1.0 notes and its Oct 21 update give Nov 10 as the end; some guides say Nov 7. The mode is on Limited-Time Modes.

Phase 2: Casino Heist (from Nov 10, 2026, announced)

2:49 Phase 2 starts on Tuesday, Nov 10, 2026, with the infantry-only European Casino map, the Casino Heist event, new hardware and weapon changes. It is announced, not yet out, as of Nov 8, 2026, and EA had not published the patch's version number.

• European Casino: the season's third new map, which Battlefield Studios had promised in April as a "holiday surprise"; a nighttime map on the Las Vegas Strip with breakable walls, a lazy river and a central tower over 120 m tall that collapses. Its zones are a Greek-style resort, a French-inspired shopping district, a grand lobby, an indoor garden and an entertainment area; objectives include the Carousel, Wisteria Garden and European Casino Lobby. It has no vehicles and is not in REDSEC. See Maps.
• NSW4 Carbine: a close-quarters gun with subsonic ammo by default and an optional Supersonic ammo type.
• ADS-17 6GHz Signal Jammer: a deployable that jams enemy radar and shortens enemy spotting range.
• M142 MRAS: a fast, mobile indirect-fire truck, Battlefield 6's take on the HIMARS (Tanks and Ground Vehicles).
• Balance: extended magazines on the SCW-10 and KV9 get handling penalties, the Flared Magwell and Frangible Ammo get buffs, some LMGs and shotguns get more magazine options, and custom M44 optics are in testing (Attachments).
• Leaderboards: Career, Game Modes and Classes tabs, with a seasonal filter that starts from Season 5.
• REDSEC and Portal: proximity chat and clearer timers in Rapid Royale; Portal gets a Marked Soldier bot option, Necromorph and Shadow Silhouette effects and 10 screen effects.

3:58 Creator Enders, reading the roadmap on Oct 11, 2026, compared the Signal Jammer to the jammer of Battlefield 2042 and called the M142 MRAS the HIMARS that Battlefield 4 players remember; he expects it to annoy. In his reading the jammer also disrupts gadgets such as spawn beacons and motion sensors, which EA's own Nov 2 post does not mention.

The Casino Heist event runs in both multiplayer and REDSEC: defeated enemies drop Contracts, and completing them earns DOUGH, which buys weapon stickers, patches, vehicle decals and skins, a Weapon Package and Heist Mask soldier skins. Finishing every Contract unlocks a bonus reward.

The Server Browser comes early

EA moved the Server Browser up from Phase 3. On Nov 3 it said a staged rollout begins "shortly after" Phase 2 on Nov 10: a limited public scale test first, then a global launch over "a couple of weeks". It has four tabs, Official (Studios), Official (Player-Hosted), Verified and Custom; official servers give full XP and custom servers partial XP, and a player-hosted server is delisted after 7 empty days. Phase 3: Frozen Aces (from Dec 8, 2026, announced)

4:55 Frozen Aces starts Dec 8, 2026, with Operation High Roller, reworked Blackwell Fields and New Sobek City, and new weapons and gear. The reworks focus on movement, HQ separation, flanking space, terrain breaks and rooftop access; in Enders' Oct 11, 2026 reading of the roadmap, Blackwell Fields also gets protected jet takeoff and wider flight areas. EA lists the Freezeout event as coming with Frozen Aces, and the REDSEC Elite Series, competitive play with cash prizes, comes "later this season". See Blackwell Fields and New Sobek City.

What slipped to 2027: Platoons and the B-81 Cavalry

6:40 On Nov 6, 2026, the official Battlefield comms account said Platoons and the B-81 Cavalry, both due on Dec 8, do "not meet our internal quality standards" and move to 2027, with a revised 2027 roadmap after the holidays. Platoons were planned as groups of up to 100 players with custom names, squad tags, a main-menu tab, combined stats and an XP bonus for playing together; the B-81 Cavalry is a new vehicle, which Enders described as a B-1B-style bomber.

0:29 The post, as creator USA Specialist read it out on Nov 6, says Phase 3 still launches on Dec 8 with a new operation, the Blackwell Fields and New Sobek City updates and the winter event, and that EA will say more about its 2027 plans shortly after the holidays. Kotaku quoted fans asking why the delay was not known weeks earlier, at Season 5's launch. The feature had already moved once: in June EA set Platoons, the Server Browser and Leaderboards for Season 5. What EA has said about 2027 is on Roadmap and Season 6.

How Season 5 was received

2:21 Reaction split between maps and the store, and between the two maps. TheTacticalBrit (Oct 12, 2026) called Vegas Strip a great map despite its linear shape, with interiors that give infantry close-quarters pockets beside the vehicle streets, much like Grand Bazaar.

3:58 TheTacticalBrit said he would probably avoid Area 51: apart from its underground bunkers, it felt to him like REDSEC's Area 22B turned into a multiplayer map, "a large open space" with rocks, hills and a tall tower. Kotaku, by contrast, reported Area 51 praised by players.

The store fared worse: paid Season 5 skins drew "AI slop" accusations, including a misspelled "Secuty" patch and a skin with five identical pistols (Kotaku, Oct 15, 2026, which noted no confirmation that generative AI was used). The game also joined Xbox Game Pass on Oct 13, 2026, the same day the season began, and the Game of the Year Edition launched that day too (Price and Editions). Steam's last-30-days user reviews read "Mixed", 43% positive of 5,133 when read on Nov 8, 2026; the trend is on Steam Player Count.

What we think

We think Season 5 is the strongest content season Battlefield 6 has had: three new maps, five new weapons and a crossover in eight weeks, against two maps in each of Seasons 2, 3 and 4 (our count from Seasons). We also think the Server Browser coming forward and Platoons going back were decided together: EA announced the early browser on Nov 3 and the delay on Nov 6, and swapping a finished feature for an unfinished one keeps Frozen Aces from looking empty. Phase 3 now has no headline system, only Operation High Roller and two reworked maps. What we expect next, with dates, is on Predictions.

Frequently asked questions

When does Battlefield 6 Season 5 end?

EA has not published an end date as of Nov 8, 2026. The last announced phase, Frozen Aces, starts Dec 8, 2026, so the season runs at least into December. Season 6 is planned, and EA promises its 2027 roadmap early in the new year (Roadmap and Season 6).

When does Casino Heist start?

Tuesday, Nov 10, 2026, as Season 5 Phase 2. Seasons and phases have gone live at 12:00 UTC (4 a.m. PT) with the download a few hours before.

Is European Casino in REDSEC?

No. EA says the European Casino map is multiplayer only and infantry only. The Casino Heist event itself runs in both multiplayer and REDSEC.
