Phase 1: Warlords: Supremacy (May 12, 2026)
Update 1.3.1.0 downloaded from 09:00 UTC on May 12 and brought Railway to Golmud, reimagined from Battlefield 4 and the largest Battlefield 6 map at that point, with a moving train. EA's April roadmap set it in Tajikistan, after the campaign, at nearly four times the size of Mirak Valley. In jackfrags' May 5, 2026 look at the trailer, a captured train now moves toward the enemy HQ rather than your own, along more sections of track. Three weapons came with it, the M16A4, RPK-74M and L115, all free in the season's pass. Ranked Battle Royale in Quads launched in REDSEC.
The patch overhauled vehicles. Hits to a tank's turret deal 75% damage, its sides 150% and its rear 200%; main battle tank health rose to 1200, and armor now waits 12 seconds instead of 6 before repairing itself but then repairs at 10% a second. Laser designation with the LTLM II fell from 20 seconds to 9, Claymore close-range damage fell from 65 to 50, and automatic weapons got more recoil. More is on Tanks and Ground Vehicles.
jackfrags called the M16A4 the game's first burst-fire rifle, with a modification to make it fully automatic. The pass had 100+ tiers and four paths (Tiger Shark, Warlord Hunters, Warlords Command, Smuggled Goods), plus the Ultimate (Black Talons) and Prestige paths, at 1,100 BFC, with Battlefield Pro at $24.99. Hotfix 1.3.1.5 on May 26 fixed Golmud spawns and a Hagental Base exploit.
Phase 2: Blastpoint (Jun 9, 2026)
Update 1.3.2.0 went live on Jun 9, 2026 (one line of EA's Blastpoint guide says Jun 8). It brought Cairo Bazaar, a reimagined Grand Bazaar from Battlefield 3 with a mirrored layout, and Obliteration returned from Battlefield 4. New gear was the PP-19 SMG, the Handheld Jammer for Recon, a Cryo barrel and #00 Buck shotgun ammo. REDSEC launched Battle Royale Solos with 80 players instead of 100, a faster early ring and no tanks or IFVs.
From the trailer, jackfrags read the Bazaar's middle objective as enclosed and the market flag as changed, with less cover than in Battlefield 3.
jackfrags described Obliteration as a bomb that spawns at random and must be carried to an enemy M-COM, a chaotic tug of war.
The mortar was the patch's biggest target: the LWCMS's health fell from 250 to 50 and its replenish time rose from 10 to 30 seconds. Extended Barrels dropped from 15 to 5 points, the Attack Helicopter got radar built in, and Mobile AA gained High Velocity Rockets and laser-guided missiles. The PP-19 sat at tier 11 of an 11-tier Explosive Charge Bonus Path, Jun 9 to 23, and a free trial ran Jun 9 to 15.
Phase 3: High-Value Target (Jun 30, 2026)
Update 1.3.3.0 added Tactical Obliteration (8v8), Casual Battle Royale (Quads with AI bots), the EOD Bot Arm melee weapon and the Wet Work event. Its gunplay overhaul is the biggest single change to shooting in the game so far: bullet drag rose 40% (100% with Match Grade ammo), muzzle velocities fell (the ES 5.7 from 650 to 510 m/s), recoil varied less, automatic weapons gained headshot damage while limb and stomach hits dropped to 0.84 times, and bolt-action sweet spots narrowed, the L115's from 120-175 m to 100-133 m. See Weapons.
Vehicles were rebalanced again: the RPG-7V2's damage to tanks rose from 173-460 to 188-500, while a tank's APFSDS round against other tanks fell from 282-750 to 244-650. The Wet Work Collection event ran until Jul 14 and awarded the EOD Bot Arm, a free trial ran Jun 30 to Jul 6, and a Battlefield Pro Bonus Path ran Jul 7 to 21. REDSEC added the Disruptor Recon training path with a Mobile Jammer.
Season 3 by EA's numbers
Creators split on the two remakes: Enders, looking back on Oct 10, 2026, preferred Cairo Bazaar, found Railway to Golmud good for infantry and said its vehicles keep it from its "true glory". EA's Season 3 figures, counted to Jul 2: Railway to Golmud passed 16 million hours played, about 2.5 times Contaminated, and Cairo Bazaar 5.7 million; Ranked Battle Royale passed 1 billion hours; and the M16A4 was deployed more than twice as often as any other weapon. EA also gave Obliteration "413 million hours", a figure that cannot be squared with its map totals, so we leave it aside. On Jun 4 EA moved Proximity Chat to late Season 4 and put the Server Browser, Platoons and Leaderboards in Season 5.
What we think
We think Season 3 is where Battlefield 6 turned. Golmud's hours, two and a half times those of Season 2's Contaminated by EA's count, say more than any review: players wanted big, vehicle-heavy maps, and a remake gave it to them. The gunplay overhaul in High-Value Target matters as much, since it changed every weapon at once in the last three weeks of a short season. We think the M16A4's lead was the pass at work: a strong gun given away free on day one of a season is bound to be the most used. Kotaku's retrospective likewise dates the turnaround to this summer.
