Seasons

Battlefield 6 has had five seasons since its Oct 10, 2025 launch, each in three phases with new maps, weapons and events; Season 5, Siege of Vegas, is current as of Nov 8, 2026, and Season 6 is planned for 2027.

Battlefield 6 has run five seasons since it came out on Oct 10, 2025, and Season 5, "Siege of Vegas", is the current one as of Nov 8, 2026: it began Oct 13, 2026, and its next phase, Casino Heist, starts Nov 10. Each season comes in three phases, each phase brings a patch, a map, weapons or an event, and one battle pass covers the whole season for both Battlefield 6 and the free REDSEC (Battle Pass and Battlefield Pro). EA has said Season 6 is planned, with a 2027 roadmap early in the new year (Roadmap and Season 6).

Every update with its date

Battlefield 6's update numbers follow a pattern we worked out from the list: in Year 1 they read 1.season.phase.0 for the patch that opens a phase, and a .5 or .6 ending marks a hotfix inside it (1.3.2.0 opened Season 3 Phase 2; 1.3.1.5 was a Season 3 Phase 1 hotfix). Season 5 started over at 2.1.1.0, which reads as Year 2, Season 1, Phase 1.

How seasons work

A season opens with a large patch, usually downloadable from 08:00 or 09:00 UTC, and the new content goes live at 12:00 UTC (4 a.m. PT); Season 1 alone opened at 15:00 UTC, with REDSEC. Every phase start so far has been a Tuesday. Each phase usually brings a map or mode, a weapon or gadget, and a limited-time event with its own currency or Bonus Path (Limited-Time Modes). A free trial of the full game often opens the same week, as on Oct 15 to 19, 2026 for Season 5. Weapons from a season's pass sit on the free track (Battle Pass and Battlefield Pro); players who missed one get catch-up challenges or a Career Rank unlock later, as Season 1's guns did at Rank 20 in Season 2. New maps are tested first in Battlefield Labs, the public preview program.

Seasons are announced in roadmaps. The one Battlefield Studios published on Apr 16, 2026 covered Seasons 3 to 5, promised reworks of New Sobek City and Blackwell Fields and the Elite and Open series, and added a third Season 5 map as a "holiday surprise"; how it held up is on Roadmap and Season 6.

How long each season lasted

Our own count of days from each season's first day to the next season's first day.

Season From To Days Weeks
Season 1 Oct 28, 2025 Feb 17, 2026 112 16
Season 2 Feb 17, 2026 May 12, 2026 84 12
Season 3 May 12, 2026 Jul 21, 2026 70 10
Season 4 Jul 21, 2026 Oct 13, 2026 84 12
Season 5 Oct 13, 2026 Not announced at least 56 at least 8

Season 1 was planned to end on Jan 20, 2026; EA extended it by four weeks to "further polish and refine Season 2". Phases ran four weeks each, except Season 3's last two, which ran three.

How many more seasons follow is open. When EA's April 2026 roadmap promised three maps for Season 5, jackfrags guessed that the next Battlefield game would come in October or November 2027, leaving room for perhaps four Battlefield 6 seasons in 2027; that is his prediction, not EA's, and ours is on Predictions.

What creators think

Enders, who covers Battlefield daily, ranked the seasons' maps in his Oct 10, 2026 review of Year 1: Season 1's Blackwell Fields and Eastwood "incredibly mediocre", Season 2's Contaminated and Hagental Base a step up, Season 3's remakes good (he prefers Cairo Bazaar), and Season 4 "by far the roughest season" because the attack boat launched broken.

He also predicted that Seasons 5 to 8 will not bring the deep gameplay reworks he thinks the game needs, as layoffs and the move to the next Battlefield take developers away. That is his prediction, to be checked as those seasons ship.

What we think

Reading the Season 5 roadmap on Oct 11, 2026, Enders called its content "significantly better" than what a season usually brings, while warning that new content alone would not fix the game. We think the four-week phase is now Battlefield 6's real rhythm, more than the season: of the 11 phases from Season 2 to Season 5's Casino Heist, 9 run exactly 28 days, Season 5's first two included. The weak spot has been the third phase. Through Season 4 it usually carried an event or a melee weapon rather than a map, and Season 5's Frozen Aces has just lost Platoons and the B-81 Cavalry to 2027. We also think Year 1 shows a clear turn: Season 3 and Season 4 brought back Railway to Golmud, Cairo Bazaar and Wake Island, the big remakes that Kotaku's retrospective credits with the summer turnaround. Our guesses about Season 6 are on Predictions.
