Manhattan Bridge

Manhattan Bridge is a Battlefield 6 launch map in Brooklyn, New York, fought in the streets and brownstones under the bridge's approach with tanks and attack helicopters. It is the vehicle map of the Brooklyn theater; Empire State is its infantry-only twin.

Manhattan Bridge is a Battlefield 6 launch map in New York, where you fight on the streets among brownstones, through a bridge underpass, and "take to the skies in an attack helicopter" amid large-scale destruction. Its Conquest Combat Zone is Olympia. StoneMountain64's first look (Oct 9, 2025) put it next to its Brooklyn neighbor Empire State: the bridge in the middle, but "quite a bit more outdoors", so it feels like fighting across the city rather than around one building.

Layout

Xenoseth's design breakdown (Jan 30, 2026) uses Manhattan Bridge as the clearest example of Battlefield 6's symmetry: two main bases, first objectives at nearly identical distances, two secondary flags next to them and a middle objective dead center, "almost a square".

GravityBFTV (Feb 8, 2026) sees it as "clearly designed to be a Siege of Shanghai successor": a bigger city map with ground vehicles that work. You cannot get on top of the bridge itself; the fight runs underneath it, and StoneMountain64 found that some objectives sit on rooftops.

Many buildings are enterable, with routes inside and between them. That can make it hard to read where enemies are, but less so than on Empire State, because Manhattan Bridge is larger and players are more spread out.

Vehicles and the helicopter question

Of the five urban launch maps, Manhattan Bridge has the most vehicles: an attack helicopter in Conquest and a transport helicopter as well in Escalation, along with tanks.

Flying an attack helicopter through downtown streets is the map's spectacle. StoneMountain64 did not expect anything bigger than transport helicopters on a city map and called it "crazy".

He also flew it through the gap under the bridge.

GravityBFTV is less keen. The headquarters are so close that vehicles on Manhattan Bridge can lock rockets on each other "just after taking off", and the helicopter crosses the map in seconds. He thinks the attack helicopter does not belong and hoped for a scout helicopter instead; the AH-6 Little Bird scout helicopter has since arrived in Season 2 (see Helicopters).

Rooftops and the 1.1.3.0 changes

Landing a helicopter on a roof to farm the streets does not work for long: in StoneMountain64's test, the roof showed an out-of-combat-zone warning.

Where height is allowed, it is reachable: GravityBFTV points to the many vertical ziplines on tall structures, "especially on the rooftop bar of Manhattan Bridge". He still counts it among three launch maps with major verticality problems, with New Sobek City and Operation Firestorm.

EA's update 1.1.3.0 (Dec 5, 2025) acted on that. It adjusted Conquest and Escalation capture areas so objectives can no longer be captured from rooftops, extended rooftop out-of-bounds areas, set the out-of-bounds timer to 10 seconds, and moved the Rush M-COMs. In Breakthrough, it removed the defenders' vehicles in sectors 2 and 3, gave attackers another IFV in sector 3 and changed capture areas in sectors 1 to 3. Breakthrough on the map has run with 48 players since mid-Nov 2025.

Destruction

Tanks and rockets take the face off buildings but cannot level them, as StoneMountain64 found when his gunner brought down a storefront at the repair shop.

Digital Foundry's review (Oct 9, 2025) found the limits: on Manhattan Bridge, an exterior wall's small pillars chip, but the wall they brace "can't be damaged at all". See Destruction.

Tips

Blitz three objectives. AltoidBricks' guide (Dec 1, 2025): from the E side take E, D and B; from the A side take A, B and D; if you cannot get B or D, take C. Keep off the streets and use the interior lanes, especially if your team does not hold the high ground.

Hold the center from above. Once the match settles, control the top of B, the rooftop lanes between B and C and the overlook above D. From there you can stop pushes and deny tanks their angles. "Tanks hate fighting uphill", so it is the Engineer's map.

Walk near objectives. The map is full of blind corners and long sightlines. Stop sprinting as you close in, listen for footsteps and walk with your gun up.

  • Beacons: drop one behind a defending squad and keep probing, or pull the enemy back to A or E and then hit B or D. See Assault.
  • Anti-air: the helicopters are close all the time; an Engineer with a lock-on launcher or a Recon painting targets keeps them honest. See Recon.

History

Manhattan Bridge is new to Battlefield 6. It was not in the open beta; Empire State was the Brooklyn map players tried first. The bridge appears in the campaign too: the mission No Sleep ends with a train bombed on a New York bridge. See Campaign Missions.

What we think

We think Manhattan Bridge is the most fun launch map to fight on and the least fair to fly over: the attack helicopter makes great clips but rarely has room to be fought fairly, from the air or the ground. We expect EA to keep it rather than swap in the Little Bird, because it is what sets the map apart from Empire State. In our view the Dec 2025 rooftop changes were the right fix, and the map plays better since.

Frequently asked questions

Can you go on top of the bridge on Manhattan Bridge?

No. The fighting is in the streets and buildings under the bridge's approach. Some rooftops are playable, but objectives can no longer be captured from them since update 1.1.3.0.

Does Manhattan Bridge have helicopters?

Yes: an attack helicopter in Conquest, and a transport helicopter as well in Escalation, plus tanks.

Is Manhattan Bridge the same map as Empire State?

No. Both are in Brooklyn and share the same art, but Empire State is a smaller, infantry-only map.

What changed on Manhattan Bridge since launch?

Update 1.1.3.0 (Dec 5, 2025) stopped rooftop captures, extended out-of-bounds areas, moved the Rush M-COMs and rebalanced Breakthrough vehicles. Breakthrough there is 48 players.
