Iberian Offensive
Iberian Offensive is a small Battlefield 6 launch map in the winding streets of Gibraltar, with five objectives, light armor and heavy destruction of upper floors. It was one of the three maps of the first open beta weekend.
Iberian Offensive is a Battlefield 6 launch map set in Gibraltar's winding streets and alleyways, where EA invites you to "dodge heavily-armored tanks" and tear through buildings. Its Conquest Combat Zone is King's Battery. It is the bigger of the two Gibraltar maps (the other is the infantry-only Saints Quarter), yet still small: GravityBFTV (Aug 18, 2025) measured it as the smallest of the beta maps, close in scale to Battlefield 3's Grand Bazaar, with far more routes through buildings.

Layout
AltoidBricks' guide (Dec 9, 2025) describes evenly spaced objectives and very fast rotations, with open outer lanes and more complex inner ones. He thinks the A-side headquarters has the edge, because two of the three exits from the east-side headquarters go uphill, which makes that side easy to spawn camp.
GravityBFTV saw the same weakness from the other end: few paths lead out of each deployment, so a trapped team tends to stay trapped. The apartment architecture gets repetitive, broken by a park on the southern edge and a fire burning on the mountain behind. A main road winds around the map, and smaller streets let the IFV reach most objectives.
Fights keep returning to the center around C and B, then spin out to A, E and D and back. That is where to set ambushes. Because the vehicle lanes are narrow, Engineer mines get hit far more often than on open maps, and Support's smoke and revives decide who holds B and C.
The five objectives
GravityBFTV's walk-through of the Conquest points:
- A, the park: large, with a big tree and good cover around it, and strong spawn points.
- B, the alcove: small, in the northwest; its capture area extends into the ground floor of a building that can mostly be brought down. One of his favorite points to fight over.
C, the apartment: the center. The capture area is the whole ground floor of an apartment block and part of its southern yard. It is the most contested and dangerous point; much of the building can be blown apart to reveal campers, and shotguns rule inside. Its spawns mostly drop you in the southern park.
D, the supply depot: isolated in the northeast, cratered and burning, with wreckage and containers for cover, on low ground in view of nearby buildings. The safest spawns are to the south.
E, the main battery: the King's Battery itself, just outside two of NATO's three deployment exits. That makes it an easy first capture for NATO and a choke on NATO's movement when Pax Armata holds it. Attackers must weed out players lying prone inside the battery.
Destruction
Destruction is everywhere, from the apartments to cars, trees and the tall building at C, but the map never falls apart completely, and after a few rounds you learn which pieces come down.
Digital Foundry's review (Oct 9, 2025) found the rule: in Iberian Offensive, "most of the upper floors of the buildings can be blown out", while the bottom floors, which matter most for play, usually cannot be damaged. Blowing out an upper floor removes a perch; it does not open a new door. See Destruction.
Positions and tips
AltoidBricks' defensive spots: the house on the right of A and the stairwells behind it; the two-story buildings around B, entered by the stairwell on the A side; the hill between E and A for C, or the top floor at C with its floor blown out; the two large buildings between C and D; and the rooftops at E, reached with an Assault Ladder. See Assault.
The high ground is C and the hillside next to it. Hold your own headquarters objective plus that hill and you can press every other point and push the enemy back into its spawn. Beacons work well anywhere mid-map, as long as you keep dodging the IFV.
- Engineer: mine every objective entrance and the enemy headquarters exits from the first minute. See Engineer.
- Recon: sightlines are short; use a DMR or carbine from the A and E sides, and drones to clear mines and beacons. See Recon.
- Support: smoke every crossing and every revive. See Support.
Vehicles: tanks or IFVs?
EA's own text promises heavily armored tanks. The creators who mapped the launch layout describe lighter armor: GravityBFTV counted one IFV per team, and AltoidBricks (Dec 9, 2025) "IFVs and Mark 1's only". GravityBFTV later called one IFV per team "excellent" for the map's size in his review of all the maps. Vehicle counts change by mode and by patch, so check the deploy screen as of Nov 8, 2026. See Tanks and Ground Vehicles.
History
Iberian Offensive is new to Battlefield 6. It was in the first weekend of the open beta in Aug 2025, with Siege of Cairo and Liberation Peak. Since launch it has had little map-specific attention in EA's notes; the last fix named for it, in update 1.4.1.5 on Aug 4, 2026, stopped players getting stuck in or passing through "a stone foundation wall". Gibraltar is also the setting of the campaign missions The Rock and Operation Gladius: see Campaign Missions.
GravityBFTV's verdict on the beta version: "fast-paced, balanced, and a ton of fun", held together by its destruction and furnished interiors, which would have been hollow in an older Battlefield.
What we think
We think Iberian Offensive is the most underrated of the launch maps: fast, readable and never one-sided for long, because so many routes lead to every flag. We think its one real flaw is the east headquarters, whose uphill exits make spawn camping too easy, and we expect EA to add an exit there before it touches anything else. In our view it is the best map in the game for learning the four classes, since each has a clear job on it.
Frequently asked questions
Where is Iberian Offensive set?
In Gibraltar, in the streets below the Rock. Saints Quarter, in Gibraltar's Old Town, is its smaller neighbor.
What vehicles does Iberian Offensive have?
Light armor. Creators counted one IFV per team in Conquest at launch, though EA's description mentions tanks.
Which side is better?
AltoidBricks thinks the A side, because the east headquarters exits run uphill and are easy to pin down.
Can you destroy the buildings?
Most upper floors, yes; the ground floors mostly not. Digital Foundry and GravityBFTV both describe that pattern.

DestructionBattlefield 6 uses tactical destruction: most walls, light buildings and cover break in pre-scored chunks under explosives, vehicles, sledgehammers or sustained fire, while metal frames and many ground floors stay up. Season 5 added set-piece collapses such as the Vegas Strip dome and sign, the Area 51 control tower and, from Nov 10, 2026, European Casino's tower.
