Siege of Cairo
Siege of Cairo is a Battlefield 6 launch map set in the streets of central Cairo, where infantry and a small number of tanks fight over five objectives split by a main road. Creators rank it among the best of the launch maps.
Siege of Cairo is one of the nine maps Battlefield 6 launched with on Oct 10, 2025: urban combat "on the streets of central Cairo", where EA calls the fighting "a game of cat and mouse between infantry and tanks". Its largest version, the Conquest Combat Zone Exit Strategy, includes the Scarab House, Tajir Alley and Chokepoint areas. It shares the Cairo theater with New Sobek City and, since Jun 9, 2026, with Cairo Bazaar. In GravityBFTV's analysis of the beta maps (Aug 18, 2025), it was "one of the premier maps of Battlefield 6", and its streets recall older favorites without copying any of them.

Layout and the main road
A wide main street splits the map in half, and an overpass runs along its eastern edge. The roads keep armor on the outer lanes, so tanks are "a predictable and yet effective foe", while alleys and enterable buildings between the streets give infantry routes to flank at close and medium range. Height is scarce: GravityBFTV found that at most a second-floor balcony looks over an intersection, which keeps the map readable.
AltoidBricks, whose positional guides cover every launch map, sums it up as a compact map with "extremely short rotation paths" where every objective has three to five ways in. That is the core of the map: there is no safe side street, only angles you have or have not checked.
The five objectives
In Conquest the objectives change character from west to east, which GravityBFTV singled out as a strength:
- A, the square: the most open of the five, with alleys entering from behind.
- B, the palace: large and intricate, still under construction, so paint cans splash about in a fight.
- C, the main road: the busiest point. Buildings on both sides look down on a cratered capture area, and both teams' tanks are drawn into it.
- D, the souk: a small market away from the main roads, with five entrances, so defenders can be hit from any side.
- E, the overpass: rubble at the far east by the Pax Armata deployment, often the quietest objective because it sits on the edge.
At C, players fire down from the back-street buildings into the crater or across at each other. You can skip the worst of it by swinging north or south behind the abandoned buses, and the streets narrow further east into closer fighting.
Vehicles and Breakthrough
Conquest gives each side one tank and one IFV. In GravityBFTV's later look at every launch map (Feb 8, 2026), that count "works, though the street layout tends to bottleneck them and get too cluttered". Engineers are the answer: see Engineer and Tanks and Ground Vehicles.
In Breakthrough, EA's update 1.1.3.0 (notes of Dec 5, 2025) added an extra attacker tank in sectors 1 and 3 and widened the capture area on the B flag to help attackers push. Around Nov 13, 2025, Breakthrough on Siege of Cairo was set to 48 players, with no statement from EA. The map was also one of the three in the Initiation Breakthrough playlist with bots during the Season 1 free trial (Nov 25 to Dec 2, 2025).
Destruction and cover
Siege of Cairo is the launch map where the most can be broken. GravityBFTV put it simply: on Cairo "pretty much everything goes boom", while on New Sobek City almost nothing does. Walls and facades come down under explosives, opening new routes and exposing players inside. See Destruction for how the system works.
The flip side is clutter. The same video lists Cairo with Empire State, Manhattan Bridge and Operation Firestorm as maps with so much cover that you can lose track of where enemies could be, and get shot from behind after checking every angle.
Tips for each side
The opening. Cairo snowballs. AltoidBricks' advice: from the A-B side take A, B and C; from the E-D side take E, D and C. If you lose C, do not throw the whole team at it: send part of it around the outer lane to take the far objectives and force the enemy to react.
Holding. Once you own three points, defend from just off them: the top floor of the house behind A's courtyard, the top of the stairs above B, the top floor at C nearest your headquarters, the building at D that sees four approaches, and the stairwell rooms over E. DMRs, LMGs and accurate rifles suit these spots; change windows often.
Height. The map is very flat, so a two-story position at each objective is all the high ground there is. Pull attackers up a staircase and you will usually win the fight.
Tanks. "If a tank kills you, dedicate your next life to destroying it." On a map this tight, a tank that is left to sit and repair blocks every rotation. Assault spawn beacons also work well here, because the short lanes let a hidden beacon break a defense. See Assault.
How it plays in other modes
Every mode uses its own cut of the map (Combat Zones; see Game Modes). GravityBFTV judged the Domination and King of the Hill layouts "largely excellent" and Breakthrough "particularly effective", needing only vehicle and sector-boundary tuning, and called the whole map "S tier". The one worry in that beta look was how tight the deployments feel when one team holds every flag.
Where it comes from
Siege of Cairo is a new map, not a remake. Creators hear echoes of older maps in it: GravityBFTV names Strike at Karkand, Epicenter and Talah Market, likens the main street to the bridge fights of Amiens and Seine Crossing, and the eastern overpass to Teheran Highway. The real remake of Grand Bazaar arrived later as Cairo Bazaar. Cairo is also where two campaign missions, Night Raid and Nile Guard, take place: see Campaign Missions. It was in the first weekend of the open beta in Aug 2025, with Iberian Offensive and Liberation Peak.
What we think
We think Siege of Cairo is the best combined-arms map of the launch nine: the outer lanes give tanks a job without letting them own the center, and the five objectives each play differently. We think its weak point is the E overpass, which is too far out to matter in most rounds, and we expect any future update to the map to pull E closer or give it a reason to be held. We do not expect a full rework like the ones EA promised for New Sobek City and Blackwell Fields, because, unlike those two maps, Cairo draws little complaint.
Frequently asked questions
Is Siege of Cairo a remake of an older Battlefield map?
No. It is new for Battlefield 6. The remake of Battlefield 3's Grand Bazaar is a different map, Cairo Bazaar, added on Jun 9, 2026.
What vehicles are on Siege of Cairo?
In Conquest, one tank and one infantry fighting vehicle per team. Breakthrough attackers got extra tanks in sectors 1 and 3 in Dec 2025.
Which modes can I play on Siege of Cairo?
The All-Out Warfare modes, led by Conquest and Breakthrough, and the smaller infantry modes on cut-down zones; see Infantry Modes. Playlists rotate, so check the current list in game as of Nov 8, 2026.
Which objective matters most?
C, the main road. It sits between both teams' strongholds and decides most rounds, which is why AltoidBricks advises flanking the far objectives rather than feeding players into it once it is lost.
Is Siege of Cairo good for snipers?
Not very. Sightlines are short, the map is flat and the best perches are second floors. DMRs and LMGs held from a window do better than bolt-action rifles. See Recon.
