Top Tips
The best Battlefield 6 tips in one place, each in a sentence or two with a link to the page that explains it: play one class well, revive and drag before anything else, hit tanks from behind, mount and zero your weapon, and tune a few settings first. Current as of Season 5, Nov 8, 2026.
The best Battlefield 6 tips, as of Season 5 on Nov 8, 2026, come down to playing as a squad: learn one class well, revive before you shoot, and attack from more than one angle, as EA's own Squad Tactics guide puts it. Every tip below is a sentence or two, credited where it comes from, and ends with a link to the page of this viki that explains it in full.

Classes and squads
- Master one class first. EA's advice is to learn one class well, then switch to whichever class your squad lacks when it struggles. Learn more: Classes.
- Charge the defibrillator for a full-health revive. Any class can revive a squadmate and Support can revive anyone; jackfrags shows that holding the button to charge the paddles brings a teammate back at full health instead of 50%, once per charge. Learn more: Support.
- Drag before you revive. You can drag a downed teammate around a corner and revive them there, as long as you are not prone; Arekkz Gaming adds that a smoke grenade makes revives far safer. Learn more: Movement, Squads and Revives.
- Ping while you are down. A downed player can still mark enemies and call for a revive, so keep spotting while you wait. Learn more: Movement, Squads and Revives.
- Put the Squad Beacon somewhere safe. EA's New Player Guide says to hide it where enemies will not walk over it, since your squad spawns on it. Learn more: Support.
- Double up on a class when the match calls for it. A squad of four works best with one of each class, but EA's Squad Tactics guide says to double up when the match needs it, such as a second Engineer against heavy armor. Learn more: Classes.
- Pair Recon with Engineer. A Recon's Laser Designator or Tracer Dart speeds up the lock-on of an Engineer's launcher. Learn more: Recon.
- Change your kit without redeploying. If you spawn with the wrong class or loadout, stand still and open the loadout screen (Y on Xbox, the touchpad on PS5) to swap without spending a ticket. Learn more: Classes.
- Short on Assault ammo? Drop the weapon sling. The sling lets Assault carry two primaries but cuts ammunition; jackfrags suggests another gadget if you keep running dry. Learn more: Assault.
- Supply Bags go on vehicles too. Support can throw the Supply Bag onto a vehicle so it resupplies those riding in it. Learn more: Support.
Shooting and weapons
- Test every gun in the Firing Range. The Firing Range opens from the loadout screen; Arekkz Gaming also turns on the network widgets' damage log in the settings to see every hit. Learn more: Weapons.
- Mount on walls and use the bipod. When the mount icon appears near cover, aim to peek over or around it; press melee while mounted or prone to deploy a bipod for better recoil and spread. Learn more: LMGs.
- Tap fire at range. Bloom spreads your shots the longer you hold the trigger, so Arekkz Gaming switches to single or burst taps for targets about 70 meters away or more, and cycles fire modes from the D-pad. Learn more: Assault Rifles and Carbines.
- Bullets leave the barrel, not the screen center. If shots hit the cover in front of you, raise your gun until the barrel clears it. Learn more: Weapons.
- Zero your scope beyond 200 meters. Double-tap ping to range a target, then set the zeroing so the shot lands where you aim. Learn more: DMRs and Sniper Rifles.
- Mind the 100-point attachment budget. Every attachment costs points and a weapon holds 100 at most, so four 30-point attachments will not fit together. Learn more: Attachments.
- Suppressors hide you, but not completely. An unsuppressed gun 3D-spots you and puts you on the minimap while you fire; a flash hider stops the 3D spot, and a suppressor keeps you off the minimap for all but nearby enemies. Learn more: Attachments.
- Watch for the rainbow glint. A sniper's scope glint turns from white to rainbow when you are in the range where one torso shot can kill you. Learn more: Recon.
- Recon spots by aiming. The Recon's Passive Spot marks enemies you aim at, faster the steadier and more zoomed you are. Learn more: Recon.
- Follow the meta, but date it. The best guns change with each patch; check the current builds rather than a launch-week list. Learn more: Best Loadouts.
Vehicles
- Shoot tanks from behind. Tanks and IFVs take far more damage in the rear, and since Game Update 2.1.1.0 on Oct 12, 2026 a square rear hit, between 86 and 94 degrees, deals 2.5 times the damage. Learn more: Tanks and Ground Vehicles.
- Sit on a supply bag for more rockets. An Engineer who stands in a Support's bag can carry extra rockets and mines, up to five rockets in jackfrags' test. Learn more: Engineer.
- Engineer and Recon are the anti-vehicle classes. EA's New Player Guide says to hit tanks on the sides, rear, top and bottom, never the front, and the Engineer's Mechanized Infantry trait cuts blast damage near your own vehicles. Learn more: Engineer.
- Crouch in a tracked vehicle to roll over mines. Holding crouch in a tank or IFV lets it pass enemy mines without setting them off, and it runs quieter. Learn more: Tanks and Ground Vehicles.
- Use boats between islands on Tsuru Reef. EA's map guide says to dive underwater and use the waves for cover, land on the air base runway to repair aircraft, and put Deploy Beacons on Mt. Hoshizora. Learn more: Tsuru Reef.
- Keep a spawn beacon near the enemy carrier in Carrier Strike. Hold most of the missile sites to unlock anti-air, and remember a jet's bombs hit as hard as a missile strike. Learn more: Limited-Time Modes.
Movement and destruction
- Roll on landing. Press crouch just before you hit the ground to roll and cut fall damage, within limits. Learn more: Movement, Squads and Revives.
- Crouch sprint. Start a sprint, then press crouch: you keep a low profile at speed, which Arekkz Gaming finds strong in Breakthrough. Learn more: Movement, Squads and Revives.
- Run with the knife out. Holding melee to draw your knife makes you run noticeably faster than with a gun, and the Support's defibrillator and the Engineer's repair tool do the same. Learn more: Movement, Squads and Revives.
- Keep moving when a building falls. You take less damage from collapsing rubble if you sprint than if you stand still; doors also open quietly if you interact with them instead of bashing them. Learn more: Destruction.
- Blow open new routes. Explosives, and enough bullets, break walls, so the safest way into a building is often a hole you made. Learn more: Destruction.
- On fire? Go prone. Leave the flames and lie down to put yourself out faster and take less damage. Learn more: Movement, Squads and Revives.
- Do not drop the casino tower too early. On European Casino, EA's map guide warns against bringing the tower down too soon, and notes that Engineers' explosives do it fastest. Learn more: Season 5.
- Take the ziplines and tunnels on Wake Island. Use the shipwreck's ziplines, destroy ammo structures to open new paths, and bring SMGs or carbines into the tunnels. Learn more: Wake Island.
Modes
- Play the objective. Points and M-COMs win rounds, and they also give the most XP; MP1st's first tip for new players is to play the objective. Learn more: Game Modes.
- Read the minimap's diamonds. A solid diamond is an enemy on your level, one with an up arrow is above you and one with a down arrow below. Learn more: Movement, Squads and Revives.
- In Escalation, embrace the ties. EA's guide says to split squads across points and change loadouts as the map shrinks. Learn more: Escalation.
- Never camp a live bomb in Obliteration. Move toward where the next bomb will spawn, and in Tactical Obliteration you can give up one hard station. Learn more: Obliteration.
- Attack from several angles. EA's Squad Tactics guide says to come at an objective from more than one direction. Learn more: Conquest.
Settings
- Turn off motion blur and the screen effects. jackfrags sets weapon and world motion blur to 0 and camera shake to its lowest, turns on reduced sprint bobbing, turns off chromatic aberration, vignette and film grain, and widens the field of view with a wide weapon field of view. Learn more: Best Settings and Performance.
- Change a few settings first. EA's New Player Guide lists sensitivity, inverted look, controls, motion blur and camera shake, and field of view, then says to test them in the Firing Range. Learn more: Best Settings and Performance.
- Raise the field of view. The slider runs from 85 to 120 degrees, with 90 as the default; MP1st suggests about 100 on console. Learn more: Best Settings and Performance.
- Fix PC aim with the Uniform Infantry Aiming reset. Turn it off, set the Zoom Sensitivity Coefficient to 0, turn off Zoom Transition Sensitivity Smoothing, then turn it back on, as MP1st reported from Torbis. Learn more: Best Settings and Performance.
- Cap your frame rate on a weaker CPU. Digital Foundry advises capping it at your lowest typical average to stop frame-time spikes. Learn more: Best Settings and Performance.
- Do not use console performance modes without VRR and 120 Hz. Digital Foundry advises against the performance modes on a screen without both. Learn more: Best Settings and Performance.
- Try a zero deadzone on controller. Game Update 2.1.1.0 removed a hidden deadzone buffer, so a true 0 deadzone now works. Learn more: Best Settings and Performance.
Our pick of the tips
We think three tips matter more than the other 43 together: charge the defibrillator and drag before reviving (tips 2 and 3), shoot tanks from behind (tip 21), and raise the field of view (tip 42). The first wins Breakthrough and Rush rounds by keeping tickets, the second turns an Engineer from a nuisance into a tank killer since the Oct 12, 2026 patch, and the third shows you the flanker before he shows you the kill screen. We also think new players underrate the Firing Range: two minutes there tells you more about a gun than any list.

ClassesBattlefield 6 has four classes, Assault, Engineer, Support and Recon, each with a fixed signature gadget, trait and weapon bonus, two training paths and an active ability. In most modes any class can carry any gun; Closed Weapon playlists keep each class to its signature weapon plus carbines, DMRs and shotguns.
-
SupportSupport is Battlefield 6's medic and ammo class. It carries the Supply Bag, can revive any teammate, handles LMGs with no sprint penalty, and brings the Defibrillator, smoke, intercept systems, Deployable Cover and the Portable Mortar; its training paths are Combat Medic and Fire Support.
-
Movement, Squads and RevivesBattlefield 6 moves with sprinting, sliding, crouch-sprinting, a landing roll, leaning and weapon mounting, and plays in four-player squads that spawn on each other, spot with a ping wheel and revive with drag-and-revive. Any class can revive a squadmate, Support can revive anyone, and a revive costs no ticket.
-
ReconRecon is Battlefield 6's scout and sniper class. It spots enemies just by aiming at them, carries the Motion Sensor, handles sniper rifles best, and brings the Recon Drone, Laser Designator, Tracer Dart, C4, mines, jammers and the Sniper Decoy; its training paths are Sniper and Spec Ops.
-
AssaultAssault is Battlefield 6's objective class. It carries the Adrenaline Injector, captures and arms objectives faster, uses assault rifles best, and brings ladders, grenade launchers, a Deploy Beacon or a second primary weapon; its training paths are Frontliner and Breacher.
-
WeaponsBattlefield 6 has 67 guns in eight categories as of Nov 8, 2026 (Season 5), up from 45 at launch, and the NSW4 Carbine makes it 68 on Nov 10, 2026. EA's own list shows one fewer because it leaves out the RPKM, which is still in the game. Every gun is listed here with the season it arrived.
